Khalsa College for Women is one of the leading women institutions of Punjab situated on national Highway (G.T. Road), Amritsar, established in 1968, it is a premier institute, a gateway to academic and professional excellence having the proud privilege of working under the auspices of Khalsa College Governing Council, Amritsar. In the 49th historic All India Sikh Educational Conference, held at the premises of Khalsa College, Amritsar under the patronage of Chief Khalsa Dewan, it was proposed to establish a separate institution for women. Finally, as per its resolution no. 262 dated June 10, 1967 and resolution no. 279 dated September 17, 1967 of the Governing Council of Khalsa Collage, it was decided to start Khalsa College for Women in the premises of Khalsa College, Amritsar.
Khalsa College of Education, Ranjit Avenue, Amritsar has its roots in the main Khalsa College (Estb. in 1892), Amritsar, Khalsa College Soceity, Amritsar came into bieng as registered educational society under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It was registered in the office of “The Registrar of Joint Stock Companies, Punjab” on April 14, 1892. Under the administration of this 117 years historic society, ten colleges and five schools are working successfully whereas the management has planned to introduce two new colleges from the coming session under names “Khalsa College of Law, Amritsar “Khalsa College of Technology and Business Studies, Mohali . Khalsa College of Education, G.T. Road, Amritsar was established in July 1954 and at present it has become a premiere teacher Education Institute of India providing research and teaching facilities for PGDCA(T.E.), B.Ed., M.Ed. and Ph.D in Education.
Khalsa College of Nursing was started in 2006 with first batch of B.Sc. Nursing students (50 students.) Now seats are enhanced to 60 seats in 2008. In 2009 Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing and GNM programmes were added with intake of 30 and 40 students respectively. This college is going to start Post Graduation in Nursing within 2010 and ANM Course is in Process. About 300 Students are getting excellent education in Nursing fields and other extra-curricular activities
Khalsa College of Law, Amritsar is being run by historic Khalsa College Charitable Society (1892), which is successfully managing 17 educational institutions of par-excellence. The College has been started on the popular demand from border areas for a value-based law studies and education and it vows to emerge as a quality based Centre of Excellence in legal arena.
The admission process has started. The College offers BA LLB (Five Year Course), after 10+2 and LLB (Three Year Course) 120 seats in each course.
BA LLB (Five Year Course) after 10+2. Eligibility: +2 passed with 45 % marks from any recognized Board (40 % for SC/ST), Age: Up to 20 years for general category and 22 years for SC/ST.
LLB (Three Year Course): Eligibility: Graduation from any recognized University with 45 % marks for general category and 40 % marks for SC/ST.
